E J Pipken Admits to Paying for Access to Politicians

Maryland Senator and Congressional candidate E. J. Pipken has admitted to pay for play. The Baltimore Sun reports that Pipken admits contributing $2,000 to the gubernatorial campaign of former Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend in order to gain access to "decision makers" regarding Pipken's fight again dumping dredge spoil near the Bay Bridge.

Pipken notes that this occurred prior to his election to the Maryland Senate. The Sun's article doesn't provide the date of the donation, so we can't be sure whether or not Pipken was a candidate at the time.

If I had ever considered voting for Pipken, I would change immediately. If, by some miracle, Pipken managed to accomplish more than cost Maryland Sen. Andy Harris the GOP nomination and win the GOP primary I would simply refuse to pull the lever in the Congressional race. Why? I don't want someone representing my district that was stupid enough to admit that he paid to play.

We all know that this type of behavior goes on. However, admissions by people like Pipken only fan the fires for more ridiculous "reform" schemes. The real answer is to adopt a campaign finance system that permits unlimited contributions, only from individuals, and to require quick reporting into a publicly accessible database similar to the one maintained by VPAP.

What Will Blognetnews Bring Us Tomorrow?

Michael Schwartz is on a roll. With a full week of Posts, (8 of them) 4 of which were Crossposted with Red Maryland, (or is it Maryland Politics or Brian Griffiths) and a big 14 comments, Michael Schwartz is certain to be the #1 Blogger in the State of Maryland by Blognetnews.

Or will it be Brian Griffiths, AKA Red Maryland, AKA Maryland Politics? All I can tell you is, Blognetnews isn't what it used to be and they're using Bloggers to sell ad space.

Maybe the rest of the Bloggers will come to realize they're being used and since their articles are copyrighted, Blognetsnews just may owe them some of that income they're bringing in from ad sales. I can tell you, I for one never received and or signed a contract with them.

Today's Wildlife Photo

Today's Daily Times

UH OH! Did you happen to notice when you read the Daily Times today, much of the information they printed could be read yesterday, (if not earlier this week) on Salisbury News?

Looks like we're kicking some butt with just a two man show verses 200 at the DT. I guess they have their niche?

Memories?

Ladies & Gentlemen, It was 2 years ago this month I started taking pictures of the Salisbury Zoo and from every week forward throughout the year I'll be bringing you photos of how screwed up things were down there two years ago all the way to current.

This will allow ALL of you to see that all that is wrong down there has absolutely nothing to do with Joe Albero and his nasty inconsequential Blog. The reason I have been taking photos was to keep a record to be able to come back and offer you visions of what was and what is.

It's pretty disturbing to see that the Zoo is probably the worst example of anything I can show you. At least at the WWTP they cleared things up and moved forward. Yes, they lied stating everything was legal and it was not. However, things got cleaned up. The Zoo, well, things are just worse than they were two years ago and it clearly shows John Jacobs, Jim Rapp, Ron Alessi, Carrie Samis didn't do jack sh!t down there and I have documented proof of such.

So when you look around the City of Salisbury. The roads, the neighborhoods, the Plaza, the Zoo, you name it, please do tell me what this Mayor has improved as far as quality of life in Salisbury?

There are new Condos everywhere! There are new Developments everywhere! The Old Mall is gone at a $16,000,000.00 Taxpayers Expense. Oh, there's a new Fire Station, at a $10,000,000.00 Taxpayer Expense!

Come on now Folks, please help me out here? I really want to know what good this Mayor has done for everyone? Oh, as for the poster above. Who can tell me who's left working at the Salisbury Zoo? Damn, I wish the Mayor's picture was in there!

Barrie Tilghman Starts Off Her Campaign Run On Church Street

It looks as if Barrie Tilghman is starting off her Mayoral Campaign early because she knows she's in deep sh!t. Announced in today's paper, Barrie Tilghman and Louise Smith will walk Church Street on Jan. 26th from 10:00 to 11:30 AM to voice their "Joys & Concerns."

Oh, BITE ME! First of all Louise, if you're so Handicapped, how the hell can you go walking for 1 1/2 hours, yet you can't park 3 spots into the parking lot at the GOB?

Secondly, if it weren't for my return during the Church Street clean up a few months ago, you would have never walked the streets cleaning up trash. You would have simply taken credit for it all and done nothing. I happened to be the first group back taking pictures as we were returning and you took off behind a house and just stood there.

When I realized you had gone off on your own, I took it upon myself to go look for you and there you were, standing there with an EMPTY trash bag just looking around. Now granted, at that point I went back for more supplies and it forced you to actually do some work but it was all for the Photo Op and NO ONE else showed up besides Salisbury News. Let's not forget the Mayor immediately bowed out and never participated.

Nevertheless, just what do you guys think you're going to do? Walk the streets and tell everyone what you like and don't like about their neighborhood? I'll give you a better idea. Why don't you bring Chief Webster along with you and I can even top that. Why don't you do a meeting with the Police Officer that patrol that area and ask them what's up with that neighborhood?

I'll give you one better. Why don't the two of you WALK THE DOWNTOWN PLAZA and open your freakin eyes for once and see what's right and wrong about that neighborhood too? Oh, that's right, it's EASY to walk Church Street because you can just point fingers and place blame on everyone else. If you walk the PLAZA you'd have to point fingers at yourselves for proving you're failures and it's so much easier to blame someone else.

I'd say it's far more important to revitalize Downtown than it is Church Street, wouldn't all of you agree? I believe Tom Stevenson covers that area as well as the SPD. I believe the Mayor and Louise Smith need some accountability and they should start by proving they have a plan and they can actually accomplish something positive for the Taxpayers.

This is the early stages of Barrie getting back the Black Vote again and she's off to an early start. However, this time there's the Blogs. Let's see who wins this time Barrie!

STORYCHAT

Does anyone find it interesting how The Daily Times has completely, (once again) avoided ANY of the 3 pages or more comments on STORYCHAT about the Zoo, the Mayor, Joe Albero and Salisbury News?

Here they get 3 pages of comments, (mostly in my favor) in one day, (could be a record for them) and they just flat out ignore it. It is the Tilghman Times. Just when you think they're going to change their ways and get just a little more honest, they pull this crap once again.

Oh well, another Record Day for Salisbury News anyway. One would think that the DT is trying to help the Mayor but everyone knows they'll just have to come here for the real scoop. Thanks for the Front Page Coverage once again.
