Public Information Officer Jim Fineran Responds To Landfill

"Our MDE Inspector is Brian Littlefield. In response to Mr. Albero’s inquiry, I asked Mr. Redden to look into the run-off situation. Mr. Redden informed Mr. Littlefield, who almost immediately conducted an inspection. Mr. Littlefield’s conclusion is that the landfill is in compliance with state water quality regulations and that “clean water” is being discharged from the county landfill. A landfill consultant is working on a report to verify this compliance.

James V. Fineran

Wicomico County Public Information Officer"

With all due respect, we are running tests from water samples taken in three locations along the way from the Landfill to the River. Once we get these results we'll make them public. If the County is correct, Barrie Tilghman has a lot of explaining to do referencing the high bacteria count on the River recently, after a WWTP spill. IF the test results come back whereas the County is wrong, the Mayor just might be off the hook, (somewhat) for the river being polluted.

Breaking News Story, Federal Judge Throws Out Claude Holland's Case

As I'm sure by now the Daily Times has read my banner at the top of the Blog mentioning the Federal Judge's decision against Calude Holland. However, I doubt they're onto the Documents by the Honorable Andre M. Davis, United States District Judge.

Claude felt he was wrongfully terminated by former Wicomico County Sheriff Hunter Nelms and that couldn't be further from the truth. Sheriff Hunter Nelms and Major Robert Van Meter filed a motion for summary judgment, which has been fully briefed and Judge Davis granted the motion.

Some of the quotes in the documents I'll be posting later this afternoon are just mind boggling. One was, "The day after his removal from responsibilities with the DRILL Academy, Holland was placed on leave due to psychiatric illness. During this time Holland was hospitalized for at least two weeks due to depression and concerns that he would harm himself if not institutionalized."

Former Sheriff Hunter Nelms had chosen to ask Holland to take leave and upon doing so, Holland chose not to returned to work. Months later Holland decided all of a sudden he wanted to go back to work but Sheriff Nelms knew there were mental issues he needed to evaluate further, so they set up a detailed evaluation whereas a highly respected Doctor from Johns Hopkins, Dr. Janofsky who stated "his prognosis included a 1/3 chance of relapse."

Nelms felt that he was "responsible to the people of Wicomico County and the health and welfare of [his] employees to return a healthy deputy to the streets armed with a weapon." Since Nelms "did not get assurance from Dr. Janofsky" that Holland would be completely healthy, he could not return to duty.

Consequently, to Nelms decision, Holland was offered and declined the opportunity to resign with severance pay, and was subsequently terminated.

Later this afternoon I will produce the 7 pages of documents that fully outline this summary judgment.

Greg Bassett and The Daily Times drilled Hunter Nelms for what seemed like forever on this issue and once again, THEY WERE WRONG! Yes Mr. Bassett, go back into the history of The Daily Times articles and you'll see, once again, they did everything they could to bring down the former Sheriff, just as they did the DRILL Academy closing.

Your credibility isn't worth a damn any more Mr. Bassett and as we continue to expose the thing YOU WON'T, the company you work for will continue to fail as well. Yeah, I like Hunter Nelms, always have. He's the kind of guy that simply tells you like it is and perhaps you have to get to know the guy first before you can truly appreciate him, I took that time and I am honored to say I appreciate him as a friend and trust him as one as well.

Now if only I could get a hold of the old SOB for a comment I'd be in much better shape. Retirement sucks!

Domino's Legal Team Delivers

"Post this at the top of your article if you truly are here to report the truth in your local news blog. Your article was sent to us by our parent company Domino's Pizza LLC and their legal team since it was red flagged for response.

At DP Salisbury LLC the ONLY people paid via 1099's are for sub contractors and employees that do other work outside the scope of their employment and/or job titles, example being a driver who may be part time is also an electrician and does some electrical work for us. We have NEVER paid a 1099 to anyone who was simply doing their job to avoid paying overtime, taxes, etc. The person you took the time to interview was either mistaken about their job duties or simply lying about our company. We do not send out W-2 or 1099 forms late. They are mailed on time but if a person has moved and not notified us, which happens ALL THE TIME, we can do nothing more than mail the forms to the last known address. We own over 17 locations in the Delmarva area and our parent company Domino's Pizza LLC would never allow such actions. Greg Bassett Is Desperate

Although I haven't received my copy of The Daily Times today, I've been subjected into having to go on line and wait 10 minutes for each page to pop up. Of course that ticks me off, as you all already know.

If I wanted to be subjected to all of this I'd simply drop my subscription and go to the on line version for free. However, today is a different story since the paper just won't arrive.

We are once again subjected to the Davis Ruark situation and they are already loaded with two pages of comments hoping to stone the man to death and Bassett is loving it. He's finally learned that IF they act more like a tabloid paper they'll gain more attention, especially during times when they can't even print the paper and or get it out on a timely basis.

So take one of your friends and plaster him all over the paper and it will keep people interested. Well, first of all, it is a business, so you can't fully blame them for trying to stay afloat? I'm not exactly sure how I'd handle it if I was dependent on a job and or the livelihoods of some 200 people working there?

I will say this however. I would have been a smart enough businessman to have been an honest man and bankrolled more profits so during hard times I wouldn't have to screw my friends to keep the business alive.

Many people forget that there is such a difference between this Blog and a Newspaper that is dependent on sales. Yes, I am opinionated and I have the right to choose my battles. Many try to attack me because I can at times be one sided. That's what a Blog is. It's opinionated. IF you want the other side, there are other Blogs out there that will beat the crap out of someone like Davis Ruark and that's their right. However, on this Blog I simply won't allow that to happen and let me explain why.

A few years ago Jim Rapp was doing everything he possibly could to get me thrown into Jail, even if it meant lying. I was smart enough to carry a video camera whenever I went to the Zoo, just in case he tried pulling another stunt. Low and behold, I was right! Rapp tried charging me with 40 some odd counts of stupid stuff, including assault.

I immediately went over to Davis Ruark's Office with my Attorney and he allowed me the opportunity to show him the video. Rapp had told the Commissioner that I had used the "F" Bomb in front of children, that was a flat out lie. He also claimed I had physically assaulted him, yet I had the camera on the entire time and there was proof, there was no assault.

When I turned myself in the Commissioner said to me, how dare you curse in front of those children! I said, WHAT? She repeated, how dare you curse in front of those children at the Zoo! I looked at her and said, I didn't curse! She replied, "Are you telling me that the Director of the Salisbury Zoo, Jim Rapp is lying to me? I replied, you better believe he is and I have a video tape to prove it. That's when she slapped a $50,000.00 Bond on me! I should tell ALL of you, she can no longer have ANYTHING to do with hearing ANYTHING with the City of Salisbury and or Jim Rapp ever again. Her Boss got so ticked off at what she did to me, she even put in writing I couldn't leave the State of Maryland, knowing I resided in Delaware.

Nevertheless, Davis Ruark took the time to watch the video and saw for a FACT that I had not once cursed. In fact, it was Jim Rapp who was the one cursing and I have video proof of such to this day. There was no assault and Davis clearly saw that as well. So why does Joe Albero respect Davis Ruark? Because the man took the time to hear me out and watch that video. Davis could clearly see Rapp was on a rampage once again and bullshitting everyone with lies and I had video proof that he was doing just that. Davis also very clearly saw that I was minding my own business when several of the Zoo Staff confronted me by originally walking doe the boardwalk where I was standing at the very end and they boxed me in, (photos above).

The Mayor, Barrie Tilghman was SO DESPERATE to get me out of the Zoo, she allegedly went to Davis and told him to do whatever it took to lock me up. Davis knew Rapp was lying and refused to go after me, hence the change of venue on the case to Somerset County and another States Attorney handling the case. As a gentlemen I settled the case with their office and we all came to terms. IF I was guilty of anything, believe me, the City would have done everything in their powers to try to screw me.

In the end, Rapp is gone, Samis is gone, the lives of the animals are in much better hands and I appreciate Davis Ruark for standing up for me and I'll never forget that. Now I'm sure there are hundreds of stories similar to mine over his 20 years of service. He is an honorable man that is experiencing difficult times in his personal life right now and if you've never been there, you're the right hand of God then. The personal attacks won't do here. One other reason for that is, the States Attorney's Office has prosecuted thousands upon thousands of people who would love to get out there anonymously and kick his a$$. Are all of you that stupid that you can't see that?

Any first offender would get a PBJ, unless they were uncooperative and resisted arrest. Davis didn't do that. He didn't say he was the Wicomico County States Attorney. He offered them the gun in the car, they didn't search for it. Let this thing take its course and in the end justice will be served. In the mean time, I'm not selling papers and I'd rather everyone enjoy all the other forms of news/information we provide.

Anyhow, it's a shame Bassett would stoop so low and forget where he came from but they must sell papers. I could understand it if they exposed other stories and or ALL stories but to just go after Davis and cover up so many other Tilghman type stories is sad.

The WCSO Keepin It Real

On March 3, 2008 a Deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Henry Lloyd Appleby III in Salisbury, MD. During the stop the Deputy started to investigate what he believed to be possible criminal activity. During the investigation, Appleby became belligerent and began yelling obscenities. When they attempted to arrest the man for being disorderly, Appleby started resisting arrest. The Deputies were eventually able to subdue Appleby and transported him to the WCDC Booking Unit. He was left there pending an appearance before the Commissioner.

On 3-5-08 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Chesnut Way in Salisbury for a traffic violation. The driver, Floyd Lee Sykes was placed under arrest as soon as the Officer noticed the odor of marijuana and found paraphernalia to boot.

Poor Bill Reddish

Since I didn't get my paper I thought I'd pop onto WICO this morning to see what was up with Bill Reddish. Funny part is, he's stumbling all over the place for news because he too didn't get his paper where they steal the news from and don't give the paper credit.

Nevertheless, pretty much everything was yesterday's news. Now he says he's going ON LINE into cyber space for the news. LMAO! He has NO GUEST this morning. It's no wonder I never listen to this show unless I'm tipped off and want to hear someone.

BIG YAWN. Maybe it's time to bring back John Robinson? LOL

Fatal Hebron Accident Now Brings On Lawsuit By Family

In a Hebron Commissioner's meeting tonight their Town Attorney, Tony Gorski & Steve Cox stated a letter from Attorneys Bledsoe & Goldtorpe, P.A., sent regarding potential legal action regarding the accident involving the Fire Department vehicle and the woman who was killed.

The Hebron Attorney stated the location of the accident was not in Town limits. They went on to say the Fire Department is not funded by the Town of Hebron and the roads are County and State roads.

The Grand Jury was supposed to hear this case a week ago but has been delayed till next week. That doesn't change the fact that the Family has chosen to send out letters of intent, usually meaning a lawsuit will soon follow.

It looks like the multitude of problem in Wicomico County aren't going to go away any time soon. This could mean the County will be named in the lawsuit and this one could be very costly for the Taxpayers.

Obviously there will be more to come on this story as everyone has tried to keep this as quiet as possible but I knew there was no way this one was going to just go away. More to come......

Due To Unforseen Production Problems, Your Paper Will Be 4 To 5 Hours Late Today!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS BS? After all that trouble, the Daily Times still can't deliver and Greg Bassett still has a job!

You get what you pay for Folks!

Assistant City Solicitor?

Here's a TIP for you ANDY, the cost of construction has gone WAY DOWN! My guess, that $2,000,000.00 building was probably overinflated in price to start with and by the time they got done screwing all the Taxpayers and they rebid the project, the Zoo should only have to raise about $5.00! This is a standard and typical Ron Alessi move. Perhaps Andy will be the hero this time for the City?

BREAKING NEWS

Calling ALL Wicomico County Landfill Contractors! I've been informed Wicomico County charges a $600.00 or $800.00 fee to set up an account at the County Landfill for Contractors.

That being said, I have a Contractor friend of mine that happens to be somewhat unique in the fact that "he" actually takes ALL of the debris from his work sites and personally brings it to the Landfill.

Several times over the past few years he has pulled up to the scales and has been asked to pull over and come inside. He was then told he had outstanding bills and they REFUSED to allow him to drop off his load unless he made things current.

IF someone else was making these dumps for him, that would be one thing. IF he was someone notorious for not paying his bills, that would be another. However, in his case he's not guilty of either and the County was wrong.

However, he has a business and must continue to dump there so he simply paid the bills and that was that. After all the hoopla going on lately he finally confronted me and expressed his concern and believe that workers at the Landfill may have in fact been allegedly allowing others, (friends) dump their loads on his account and perhaps pocketing whatever fee they charged these alleged friends.

Have YOU experienced the same problem? Sheriff Mike Lewis wants to know. It seems that no matter how you look at this Landfill, they may have been pulling things every possible way imaginable. Your help is required here. If you know of local Contractors who dump at the County Landfill and have accounts there, ask them if this has been a problem or their experience as well and lets see if we can get to the bottom of this now.
